Two main practices can keep due diligence on track: first, a checklist of items to seek and, second, a means of storing documents in accessible and secure format. Ideally, the two will interrelate in the use of a virtual data room (VDR) that has a customizable document request checklist also used as a list of categories for storing documents. The old-school “checklist” of yesterday is today a set of search terms, tags, and headings in a customizable database.
