Ellen Owens is the Director of Business Transformation at Avnet, a global electronics company with abilities that can support customer from concept thru creation and design to distribution. In her current role, Ellen leads highly collaborative global business transformation initiatives that result in growth opportunities, cost savings, and process efficiencies. Most notably, Ellen served as the global lead for the divestiture of a significant portion of the Avnet business in 2016-17.
In April of 2017, Ellen successfully completed the requirements to become a Certified M&A Specialist for post-acquisition integration, awarded by the Board of M&A Standards.
Prior to her role in Business Transformation, Ellen served as the Director of Global Integrations for Mergers and Acquisitions. In this role, Ellen developed an M&A Playbook and Integration framework which was rolled out globally to all business units. Ellen developed and provided training to support the global roll out.
Prior to joining Avnet, Ellen spent a significant portion of her professional career as a credentialed nutrition professional working in the public and private healthcare sector. To compliment her work, Ellen taught at the community college, health sciences courses.
A significant milestone in Ellen’s early career was being elected to the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing body of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association).
In addition to her professional life, Ellen very much enjoys cooking, the outdoors, running, biking, hiking and competing in triathlons. In 2011, Ellen completed the Arizona Ironman Triathlon.
Ellen is married to Robert Karcsay and has two wonderful adult step-daughters.
