Chairman's Message, December 2016
By Jim Jeffries, Chairman, M&A Leadership Council
I can’t believe that 2016 has already come and gone. I would like to thank the more than 250 M&A professionals who attended our training programs this year. Next year we are upping our game with New Programs, Workshops and Tools that our attendees can implement in their practices immediately.
We have several new offerings for the M&A community in 2017, but at the top of the list is to introduce a NEW, completely redesigned Art of M&A Due Diligence program headlined by our new partner BDO, the 5th largest global accounting firm. (Press Release)
- The NEW 3-day Art of M&A Due Diligence program will feature new content to assure that all people involved know both the Art and the Science for effective Due Diligence. We have expanded the agenda to cover both the components of a more holistic diligence as well as the issues and challenges of operating in the digital economy Key areas covered besides Financial, Operational, IT and HR diligence are the hand-offs between Corporate Development and Diligence; addressing people risks and seller dynamics; focusing on business fit and value; expanding your scope to cyber security and social media; and bridging from diligence to integration. Visit the Art of M&A Due Diligence page HERE.
- The New Art of M&A Business and IT Alignment is a must for top IT and Business executives and those who want to properly manage IT risks, benefits and complexities within the overall M&A business and deal objectives. Too often the business requirements for value creation aren’t properly addressed within IT due to a lack of coordination and alignment with the other business functions and imperatives that can begin from the moment the deal is conceived. Visit the Art of M&A Business and IT Alignment page HERE.
- The NEW MERGERMAX SaaS-based PLAYBOOK will be available in January. Many of you who have been through our training have been introduced to the MergerMax framework. Through an exclusive arrangement between M&A Partners and Midaxo, a fully operational model (Phase-based workflow, objectives, descriptions, actions and tools) will be available for immediate use and customization. This new tool is a true playbook. Look for the announcement in our next newsletter or contact us to schedule a demo.
- On-Site M&A Training and Executive Briefings – More and more companies are recognizing the value of having the M&A Leadership Council visit them to facilitate custom 1-2 day training sessions and/or address the executive team for a 4-hour executive briefing on M&A best practices. I would be happy to discuss the advantages of having key members of the M&A Leadership Council deliver content and expertise direct to your team – On-site. You can read more about our On-Site Training HERE.
We have also been working for the last few months to completely refresh our other public training programs:

- The Art of M&A Integration – March 7 in Scottsdale, AZ
- The Art of M&A Program Management – April 4 in San Diego, CA
