Strategic Planning - How does strategy relate to vision and mission?

They are all interdependent. Before pursuing any strategy, decision makers should recognize an organization’s mission (why it exists) and vision (what it is striving to become). Strategy is the path to fulfill the mission and reach a vision. Merger, acquisition, and/or divestiture plans can be vehicles for moving down the path.
