Some Interesting M&A Data Uncovered by Mergermarket
- The US’s USD 224.6bn-worth of deals saw its value rise 53.7% in the first two months of 2014 compared to 2013 (USD 146.2bn). Just as in Europe, M&A value in the US increased significantly from January to February (i.e., it more than doubled).
- This was the highest value for such time period since 2007 and also the first time since 2007 to see M&A in the first two months of the year exceed USD 200bn. As a result, the US contributed the highest amount to global M&A since the same time in 2007. Additionally, for the US, domestic M&A in 2013 was the highest value in six years (since 2007).
