Karen Baum

Karen is a National Partner in BDO’s Transaction Advisory Services Practice with over 25 years of experience advising clients in complex financial transactions and disputes.  As an accomplished corporate finance professional, she routinely advises senior executives in transaction evaluation and corporate strategy where her experience in commercial litigation is key to helping clients avoid costly post-deal disputes that dilute the upside of a transaction.  She has led teams conducting customized due diligence on behalf of lenders, strategic and financial buyers and has successfully assisted her clients complete numerous financings through initial and secondary public offerings, private placements and debt transactions.  She has also led post-transaction integrations, operational and financial restructurings in both distressed and M&A contexts. 

Karen's transaction advisory expertise in both private industry and public practice is well recognized in the entertainment, media, consumer products, retail, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing and distribution, software and technology sectors. Prior to joining BDO, Karen served as an operator in interim C-Level executive management roles for PE backed portfolio companies specializing in acquisition of distressed assets, commercial claims and novel technologies.
